The graphic indicates that rates of deaths from influenza and pneumonia peaked and slightly exceeded the epidemic threshold during July 2009. Overall, the combined pneumonia and influenza death rates were equal or lower than the predicted seasonal baseline for the majority of the season, but did exceed the epidemic threshold for three weeks during the season.
