This figure shows although skin and soft tissue infection were the most common infections below age ~60 years, the incidence of community-acquired pneumonia  sharply rises after this age becoming the most common community acquired infection among the selected infections reviewed. By the age of >60 years, community-acquired pneumonia  is the most common infection followed by skin and soft tissue infection, pyelonephritis, influenza and lastly meningitis with the lowest incidence overall.
