Figure 5 is a line graph showing the rate of chalmydia-associated pelvic inflammatory disease (acute or chronic) by year (2000-2009). Rates of pelvic inflammatory disease have declined since 2000 from 22 to 15 per 100,000 population in 2009. Chronic pelvic inflammatory disease has declined from a rate of 9 per 100,000 in 2000 to 6 per 100,000 population whilst acute pelvic inflammatory disease has remained stable during this period.
