This figure shows rates of notified cases of IPD in Australia between 2008 and 2013 by Indigenous status and age group. The figure shows that the rates of IPD in both Indigenous and non Indigenous children aged less than five years fell sharply following the introduction of the 7vPCV universal vaccine program in 2005. From 2006 to 2011, IPD notifications in Indigenous children fluctuated whilst notifications in Indigenous children increased slightly over that time. The figure also shows that the rates of IPD in both Indigenous and non Indigenous children aged less than five years fell again after the mid-2011 following the replacement of 7vPCV with 13vPCV on the National Immunisation Program Schedule.
