2018 - 19 ACAR Map

The 2018-19 ACAR Map sets out the priorities and targeting focus by SA3 for residential care places made available for allocation in the 2018-19 ACAR.

Applicants should familiarise themselves with the 2018-19 ACAR Essential Guide before using the map, particularly Chapter 6 – Distribution & Targeting of Places.

To use the 2018-19 ACAR Map, simply navigate to a position on the map or search for a specific address, within the ‘Address Search’ field; this will display the Geographic and Targeting Information in that SA3, including the Category or Priority.

An explanation of the Geographic and Targeting Information displayed is provided below the map.

Additional layers can be added into the map, including Aged Care Planning Region boundaries and operational residential care service location markers (as at 30 June 2017). To enable these layers, simply select the check box displayed.

Geographic and Targeting Information Explanation

SA3 NameDisplays the Statistical Areas Level 3 (SA3) name
CategoryDisplays the Category of Priority (from 1 to 6) for the SA3
Total operational places - residentialDisplays the total number of operational places in the SA3
Total allocated places - residentialDisplays the total number of allocated places in the SA3
Geographic location(s) in SA3Any specific locations targeted within the SA3 will be displayed here
Special Needs Groups (SNGs) in SA3In the 2018-19 ACAR, all SNGs are targeted in each SA3 however in some instances, specific SNGs are a particular focus and these will be listed if that’s the case
Key Issues in SA3In the 2018-19 ACAR, dementia and respite are Key Issues in each SA3
Notes on this SA3Any additional notes on this SA3 will be listed here
ACPR NameDisplays the Aged Care Planning Region name
RA NameDisplays one of five ASGS-Remoteness Area 2016 names.
Regional, Rural and Remote = Inner, Outer, Remote and Very Remote Australia
Metropolitan = Major Cities
