Line graph demonstrates the rates for influenza like illness by week of report and year, from 1 January 2012 to 31 December 2013, that shows a seasonal trend that is associated with influenza-like-illness in the southern hemisphere. The 2012 flu season peaked in week 29 at 26 notifications per 1,000 consultations. In 2013 the influenza season peaked 5 weeks later than the previous year, peaking in week 34 at 17 notifications per 1,000 consultations.  Average ILI rates for the fourth quarter of 2013 were higher than the previous year.
