Figure 7 shows the notification rate per 100,000 population for hepatitis A infections in Australia by year of diagnosis. Rates peaked in 1997 with 16.4 per 100,000 then declined steeply until 2000 and then more gradually top a low of 0.8 per 100,000 in 2007. Rates then increased slightly until 2009 and then decreased again to a historical low of 0.6 per 100,000 in 2011.
