• NSW had a small peak in notifications at 554 in August/September 2006. They began to increase from April 2008 and peaked at 1879 in March 2009. After decreasing from then to a low of 310 in April 2010, they increased and peaked at 1871 in November 2010. Notifications remained >800 per month until February 2012 when they began to decrease. Hospitalisations followed a similar pattern, peaking from December 2008-May 2009 with hospitalisations ranging from 71-86 per month for that peak period.
