In 2017, it is estimated that 134,000 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer and more than 47,000 Australians will die from cancer.
Australia has a 68 per cent five year survival rate for all cancers combined, which is equivalent to the highest in the world.
There are around 90 disease classifications that are considered to be a type of cancer. Each of these diseases presents with different symptoms, requires different treatments and has different outcomes.
