Report: Economic and social impacts of recreational hunting and shooting

The Department of Health engaged RM Consulting Group to undertake an impact assessment of recreational hunting and shooting in Australia during 2018-19.

The objectives of this study were to:

  • Estimate the gross economic contribution (i.e. the economic ‘footprint’) of recreational hunting and sport shooting in Australia
  • Estimate the net economic contribution of recreational hunting and sport shooting in Australia.
  • Explore the impact of recreational hunting and sport shooting activity on health and wellbeing of hunters and sport shooters.
