The Guidelines for Recognition of Private Hospital-Based Rehabilitation Services (the Guidelines) have been revised by the Consultative Committee on Private Rehabilitation (CCPR). The CCPR comprises the following organisations:
  • Australian Private Hospitals Association
  • Private Healthcare Australia
  • Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine
  • Private Health Insurance Ombudsman
  • Australian Government Department of Veterans’ Affairs
The Guidelines are intended to provide guidance to hospitals and health funds in determining private health insurance benefits for private hospital-based rehabilitation care. The Guidelines may also be of assistance to State/Territory health authorities and their public hospitals in the treatment of Medicare and privately insured patients.

The guidelines, as advised by CCPR supersede all previous versions and can be found on the Australian Private Hospital Association website.

Please note that the Department was not involved in the development of the Guidelines.
Enquiries about the application of the Guidelines should be directed to the Australian Private Hospitals Association on (02) 6273 9000 and/or email info@aphc.org.au.
