PHI 77/16 Amendment to Private Health Insurance (Prostheses) Rules 2016 No.4 Prostheses List (PDF 76 KB)

The delegate of the Minister for Health has made the Private Health Insurance (Prostheses) Amendment Rules 2016 No 3 (the Amendment Rules) to correct errors on the Private Health Insurance (Prostheses) Rules 2016 No. 4 Prostheses List.

The Amendment Rules will change the Private Health Insurance (Prostheses) Rules 2016 No 4. Prostheses List by:

  • changing the listing details of 13 billing codes in Part B to reflect the correct minimum benefit of the prostheses;
  • changing the listing details for one billing code in Part A to reflect the correct minimum benefit of the prosthesis; and
  • changing the billing code for one prosthesis in Part B to reflect the correct code.

The Amendment Rules will commence on 7 October 2016, the day after registration on the Federal Register of Legislation.

Private health insurers are asked to consider paying benefits in respect of these prostheses supplied during the period between the commencement of the Private Health Insurance (Prostheses) Rules 2016 No. 4 and the commencement of the Amendment Rules.
