Appointments to the Private Health Insurance Administration Council

The Minister for Health, the Hon Tanya Plibersek MP, has appointed Dr Barry Catchlove as Member and reappointed Mr John McGee as Member and Deputy Commissioner of the Private Health Insurance Administration Council (PHIAC). Both appointments were filled using an open and merit based recruitment process.

Members of the PHIAC are appointed for three year terms and hold office on a part-time basis.

The PHIAC is responsible for monitoring and regulating the private health insurance industry, and providing information to the Government and other stakeholders on private health insurance matters.
