Private Health Insurance (Benefit Requirements) Amendment Rules 2012 (No. 4) - Changes to Second Tier Eligible Hospitals

The Private Health Insurance (Benefit Requirements) Amendment Rules 2012 (No. 4) (the Rules) were registered with the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments (FRLI) on 20 June 2012 and commence on 1 July 2012 (FRLI No: F2012L01264). Changes to the Rules relating to Schedule 5 – Second Tier Default Benefits are outlined in Attachment A.

A further circular will be issued in respect of the changes to Schedules 1 to 4.

Next Second Tier Advisory Committee Meeting

The next Second Tier Advisory Committee meeting will be held on Friday, 31 August 2012.

The closing date for applications is Friday, 10 August 2012.

Please note that applicants are required to submit nine stapled copies of their application and at least an original plus one covering letter to:
