Private Health Insurance (Data Provision) Amendment Rules 2013 (No 1) Private Health Insurance (Health Insurance Business) Amendment Rules 2013 (No 1)

Purpose

This Circular is to inform stakeholders of an amendment to the Private Health Insurance (Data Provision) Rules 2012 and the Private Health Insurance (Health Insurance Business) Rules 2010. It should be read in conjunction with PHI Circular 27/13.

The Private Health Insurance (Data Provision) Amendment Rules 2013 (No. 1) were registered on the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments (FRLI) on 14 May 2013 and commence on 1 July 2013 (F2013L00771).

The Private Health Insurance (Health Insurance Business) Amendment Rules 2013 (No. 1) were registered on FRLI on 15 May 2013 and commence on 1 July 2013 (F2013L00775).

Changes to the Private Health Insurance (Data Provision) Rules:

The changes give effect to the revised HCP1 Data from Insurers to the Department document, which was approved by the Assistant Secretary, Financing and Analysis Branch of the Department on 9 May 2013.

Changes to the Private Health Insurance (Health Insurance Business) Rules:

The changes give effect to the revised HCP Data from Hospitals to Insurers and PHDB Data from Private Hospitals to the Department documents, which were approved by the Assistant Secretary, Financing and Analysis Branch on 9 May 2013.

The Private Health Insurance (Data Provision) Amendment Rules 2013 (No. 1) and Private Health Insurance (Health Insurance Business) Amendment Rules 2013(No. 1) can be found on the ComLaw website.

The changes made to the HCP, HCP1 and PHDB data specifications are minor. For more information about the changes, please see PHI Circular 27/13.
