Correction to the Private Health Insurance Circular 57/13 – Nursing Home Type Patient Contribution rates

The Private Health Insurance (Complying Product) Amendment Rules 2013 (No. 4) (the Amendment Rules) were registered with the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments (FRLI) on 25 September 2013 and commenced on the day after registration (FRLI No: F2013L01742).

The purpose of the Amendment Rules is to make a correction to Western Australia’s Nursing-Home Type Patient Contribution rate that was made by the Private Health Insurance (Complying Product) Amendment Rules 2013 (No. 3) which was registered with FRLI and commenced on 20 September 2013 (FRLI No: F2013L01716).

The Amendment Rules amends Part 2, paragraph 8A(3)(a)(viii) of the Private Health Insurance (Complying Product) Rules 2010 (No. 2) to reflect Western Australia’s correct Nursing-Home Type Patient Contribution rate of $54.75.

In addition, PHI Circular 57/13 made reference to the Australian Capital Territory’s (ACT) Nursing-Home Type Patient Contribution rate of $50.95. The correct Nursing-Home Type Patient Contribution rate for the ACT is $53.55, as stated in the Private Health Insurance (Complying Product) Amendment Rules 2013 (No. 2) which was registered with FRLI and commenced on 1 July 2013.
