Amendment to the Private Health Insurance (Prostheses) Rules 2013 (No.1)

Purpose

The purpose of this Circular is to inform stakeholders of an amendment to the Private Health Insurance (Prostheses) Rules 2013 (No. 1).

This amendment will correct a number of administrative errors and issues identified by stakeholders that were noted in the August 2013 Prostheses List. In order to ensure minimal impact of these issues on stakeholders this amendment, Private Health Insurance (Prostheses) Amendment Rules 2013 (No. 1), will be published 1 November 2013 and will commence on 8 November 2013.

The amendment will include changes to 23 products and will include an update to Part B of the Prostheses List. The amended rules will be available on the Department’s website.

In order to be more responsive to the needs of all stakeholders, the Department will aim to manage and resolve administrative errors in the Prostheses List in a timely manner using this approach.
