Understanding the requirements relating to Medicare Benefits Schedule item numbers, referrals and patient health care planning, as well as how mental health professionals can work together in a multidisciplinary treatment team, is fundamental to treating people effectively under the Better Access to Psychiatrists, Psychologists and General Practitioners through the MBS (Better Access) initiative.

Information, education and training is provided for general practitioners, psychologists, psychiatrists and allied mental health professionals (such as mental health nurses, social workers and occupational therapists) to meet these needs.

The following organisations are funded to provide education and training to general practitioners and allied health professionals in the delivery of Focussed Psychological Strategies (FPS):
