The Australian Indigenous Doctors’ Association (AIDA) and Specialist Medical Colleges collaborate on recruiting and retaining more Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander specialist trainees.
Over two years AIDA worked closely with specialist medical colleges to devise a total of fifteen standards that colleges agreed to implement and biennially report against. The ‘Growing the number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander medical specialists’ report released today is the first of these biennial reports. The report is also available on the AIDA and the Council of Presidents of Medical Colleges websites.
