Implementing Recommendations of the Third Review of the Gene Technology Scheme: Phase One Consultation

Consultation on the September 2019 Issues Paper - 'Implementing Recommendations of the Third Review of the Gene Technology Scheme: Phase 1’ (the Issues Paper) is now open, and will close on 29 November 2019.

The Issues Paper is part of a consultation process to support the implementation of the recommendations arising from the Third Review of the National Gene Technology Scheme. It assumes knowledge of the Final Report on the Third Review of the National Gene Technology Scheme, October 2018, and does not seek to re open issues already considered through the Review.

In accordance with the Legislative and Governance Forum on Gene Technology Action Plan, this Issues Paper focuses on informing implementation of recommendations relating to definitional issues, risk proportionate regulation and streamlining of regulation. The paper provides discussion each of these issues and seeks feedback on key factors that will guide assessment of options for change.
