Sports betting industry

The sports betting industry has an equally important role to play in ensuring the integrity of sport is protected. Under the National Policy on Match-fixing in Sport, the sports betting industry has agreed to adopt an industry standard for information exchange and information provision requirements with sports, governments and law enforcement agencies.  

To assist the sports betting industry, the National Integrity of Sport Unit has developed the following list of relevant contacts:

  • Victoria and New South Wales have enacted Sport Controlling Body legislation. Information regarding the Victorian Sport Controlling Body scheme may be viewed on the Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation website
  • National sporting organisations may be accessed through the Australian Sports Commission link
  • The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) maintains a register of licensed wagering service providers that are approved to offer wagering markets in Australia. ACMA also provides information about how Australian’s can protect themselves from illegal gambling operators.
