Where possible, boundaries of the PHNs align with Local Hospital Networks (LHNs) or equivalents, or clusters of LHNs. This will facilitate collaborative working relationships and reduce duplication of effort. In determining boundaries, a number of factors were taken into account, including population size and future projected population growth, LHN alignment, State and Territory borders, patient flows and administrative efficiencies.
