Changes in policy usually result in new or different programs being introduced at a local level. Changes in policy therefore have a flow-on effect to many people in the community.

Question - Can you think of some key stakeholders in your local community?

Answer - Some examples of stakeholders include:
  • alcohol and other drug workers
  • police
  • residents
  • drug users or their representatives
  • lawyers
  • local government officers
  • youth workers and the young people they work with
  • hotel licensees
  • pharmacists
  • school teachers
  • general practitioners
  • traders.
