Description of Medical Service

Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT) is an advanced high-precision modality of radiotherapy that uses computer controlled linear accelerators to deliver precise radiation doses to a malignant tumor or specific areas within the tumor. The radiation dose is designed to conform to the three dimensional (3D) shape of the tumor by modulating or altering the intensity of the radiation beam to focus a higher radiation dose to the tumor while minimising radiation exposure to surrounding normal tissues.

Description of Medical Condition

VMAT is suitable for radiation therapy for cancer in many different areas of the body including prostate, lung, breast and other cancers.
