Description of Medical Service
Percutaneous electrical nerve stimulation therapy is stimulation of individual nerves using needles that are inserted into soft tissues near the targeted nerve, or in areas under the skin where the pain occurs. The Probe electrodes are connected to a low-voltage pulse generator, and an electrical current is then applied to generate a sensation of 'pins and needles' or numbness.Description of Medical Condition
Chronic intractable neuropathic pain is pain caused by lesions or dysfunctions in the nervous system, and does not respond to standard pain management treatment.Reason for Application
