Description of Medical Service
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) test for evaluation of Programmed Cell Death-Ligand 1 (PD-L1) expression to determine eligibility for treatment with pembrolizumab in patients with persistent, recurrent, or metastatic (spread from where it started) carcinoma of the cervix. The test would be undertaken prior to commencement of pembrolizumab in combination with chemotherapy to enable identification of those patients most likely to benefit from treatment.Description of Medical Condition
Cervical cancer is the growth of abnormal cells in the lining of the cervix, which if left untreated will slowly spread out of the cervix and into the surrounding tissue and organs.This is a codependent application with PBAC.Reason for Application
