Transurethral injection of Botox into the inner bladder wall, guided by cystoscopy for the treatment of urinary incontinence.Description of Medical Condition
diopathic overactive bladder with urinary incontinenceOveractive bladder is caused by a dysfunction in the coordinated mechanisms that provide controlled storage and voiding of urine. This can lead to sudden urges to urinate, which may be difficult to suppress, leading to the involuntary loss of urine (incontinence). Bladder overactivity is also associated with increased pressure within the bladder, which can lead to upper urinary tract complications and renal damage. For idiopathic overactive bladder, the cause of bladder dysfunction is unknown.
