While the website is clearly delivering on content that is easy to read, navigate and understand first impressions that establish credibility and the question of authority need to be addressed. We also must ensure that our ‘core’ information on pathology tests is absolutely watertight with no gaps or areas of confusion. This will be carried out with the help of an online survey of members of the public who will be asked to search a test of their choosing and provide feedback.
The lack of public knowledge and understanding of pathology points to a need to develop a new section that covers general laboratory information and ensure this is easy to access. Among the topics to be included are the workings of the lab, the various disciplines, and the people who work there, etc. This will enable us to provide a more comprehensive coverage and important context to the information on tests. On completion of the redesign and expansion we will conduct consumer testing programs. After this, we will embark on a new communications campaign reflecting the new directions suggested by the research.
